Built in 1787 by celebrated architect James Wyatt to house the third Duke of Richmond’s prized fox hounds, The Kennels was known as one of the most luxurious dog houses in the world!


Inspired by the legendary racer, Masten Gregory, who famously leapt from the cockpit of his car before impact when approaching Woodcote Corner in 1959.



The Duke of Richmond holds the title of Duke of Richmond and Gordon. This title reflects the historical association with both the Richmond and Gordon families.

After a fire in 1791 at Richmond House in Whitehall, London, James Wyatt added two great wings to showcase the saved collection at Goodwood. To give unity to the two new wings, Wyatt added copper-domed turrets framing each façade.




The iconic spitfire covered almost 43,000 kilometres and visited over 20 countries on its epic journey and currently resides at our Aerodrome.

One of the greatest golfers of all time, James Braid designed Goodwood’s iconic Downland course, opened in 1914.

The Motor Circuit was known as RAF Westhampnett, active from 1940 to 1946 as a Battle of Britain station.



The famous fighter ace, who flew his last sortie from Goodwood Aerodrome, formerly RAF Westhampnett has a statue in his honor within the airfield.

Three Friday Nights - Unforgettable evenings
Three Friday Nights is a unique combination of horseracing and live DJ sets. Following the conclusion of thrilling horseracing, the Parade Ring is transformed into an open‑air dance floor, hosting performances by internationally renowned DJs. Three Friday Nights (5, 12, 19 June) offers racegoers and music enthusiasts the opportunity to enjoy summer evenings with horseracing followed by exceptional live entertainment. August Bank Holiday - Family days out
Make the most of the summer bank holiday weekend with fun for all the family. August Bank Holiday Racing (28–30 August) is an enchanting social occasion, offering world-class racing and a nostalgic summer atmosphere alongside Friday evening’s spectacular fireworks display. For an earlier chance to enjoy a day of racing over the Sussex Downs, Family Raceday (7 June) delivers superb family entertainment with traditional fairground rides, magical acts and live music.

Season Finale
Embracing the changing autumnal scenery, Season Finale (11 October) is the ideal October day out for family and friends, with its laid-back, country-style atmosphere.
