Each year, Goodwoof brings together dogs and their families for a weekend of activities, shopping, wellbeing and celebration, while also raising funds and awareness for a chosen charity. For 2026, the event was delighted to support Battersea, whose work has helped dogs and cats since 1860 through rehoming, care, animal welfare campaigning and support for pet owners.

Battersea was also present throughout the weekend, giving visitors the chance to meet the team, learn more about rehoming and caring for abandoned animals, and purchase a charming range of branded merchandise. Support for the charity continued across the event, with donations made through ticket bookings on goodwood.com, direct contributions from visitors on the day, generous gifts from Goodwoof partners, and proceeds from The Connaught Hotel’s fabulous hound patisseries.
A major highlight of the fundraising effort was Barkitecture, Goodwoof’s much-loved design competition hosted and curated by Grand Designs’ Kevin McCloud. This year’s imaginative, out-of-this-world space theme inspired a wonderful line-up of architect-designed kennels, which competed for prizes before being auctioned on Goodwoof Sunday, with all profits going to Battersea.
The auction, carried out by Bonhams, raised £21,080 thanks to an incredible collection of ingenious space-travelling kennels, including the huge domed U-Woof-O space landing craft designed and produced by The LEGO Group.
Together, these contributions helped Goodwoof reach its highest-ever charity donation total. Goodwoof would like to thank everyone who donated, bid, bought, visited and supported Battersea across the weekend, helping to make this year’s fundraising result such an outstanding success.
Julian Holmes-Taylor, Director of Income Generation at Battersea said:
"We were thrilled to be the charity partner for Goodwoof 2026, especially as this year was a wonderful celebration of rescue dogs. We had an incredible time over the weekend, and it was a fantastic opportunity for the charity to connect with a wide audience of dog-lovers and promote the benefits of choosing to adopt a rescue. We were also delighted to be reunited with lots of ex-Battersea residents, who were now thriving in their new homes!
We’re so grateful for the support we received and would like to thank The Goodwood Estate and His Grace for giving us this opportunity to raise money and promote our work. A very special thank you to everyone who bid on and bought one of the incredible Barkitecture kennels – your generosity will make a real difference to dogs and cats at our centres, across the UK and around the world. Thank you, Goodwoof!"
