We have our first confirmed entrants for the 2026 Goodwood Revival, and it’s huge news, because two Formula 1 World Champions are set to go head-to-head in the RAC TT Celebration.

Jenson Button and Jacques Villeneuve are both preparing to tackle the famous Goodwood Motor Circuit at the wheel of two Jaguar E-types, with which they’ll line up on the grid for the world’s most prestigious historic motor race this September.
Button is the proud owner of his particular machine, the iconic ‘CUT 8’ E-type, which boasts substantial history and a resounding connection to the legendary Jaguar preparer and racer Dick Protheroe.
Villeneuve meanwhile will be racing another car of esteemed Protheroe heritage, the ‘CUT 7’ E-type that took victory in the hands of Tom Ingram and owner Richard Kent last year.
Both of these cars, with their distinct grey and sky-blue liveries, will be in good hands whenever Button and Villeneuve climb into their respective cockpits, but the competition is going to be as fierce as ever, so they’ll need to be on top form if they want to add their names to the most revered roll of honour in historic motorsport.
Button will return to the Revival after claiming his first victory at the event in 2025, he took the chequered flag driving his own Jaguar C-type in the Freddie March Memorial Trophy. He followed that up at the 83rd Members’ Meeting presented by Audrain Motorsport with another win, his first at the wheel of his recently acquired ‘CUT 8’ E-type, in the Phil Hill Cup.
Villeneuve, meanwhile, is a relatively new hand to historic racing. He made his competitive debut at the Revival in 2025, where he was given the unenviable task of trying to tame the ‘Hairy Canary’ AC Cobra in the wet. He’ll return in 2026 hoping for fairer weather as he prepares to tackle the Motor Circuit in the ‘CUT 7’ E-type.
