As we prepare for our jaunt back out to the States for our date with our friends at Historic Sportscar Racing and the Sebring Classic 12-hour, we thought we’d share some gold from last year’s Pistons & Props.
Sebring presents a unique challenge to both car and driver, with the punishing paving taking the biggest toll this side of the Nürburgring, on both mechanicals and personals. Watching the Dallara Chrysler LMP1 jutting and rutting over the Sebring’s slabs as the film ripples with the vibrations is tiring enough. Then you notice driver Florent Moulin’s migraine-inducing micromanagement of the steering as he bounces in the cockpit and the scale of the task Sebring presents begins to hit home.
