Video: Road Atlanta and a vintage Porsche 911 – a dream pairing
Seeing a modern Porsche 911 race car at full chat is something very special (anyone who saw, or heard, the ‘Pink Pig’ 911 RSR at Le Mans in 2018 will understand), but seeing a classic 911 race wheel-to-wheel with other 911s, a handful of Corvettes and a number of other vintage GT cars is just as exciting.
Recorded during a busy Historic Sportscar Racing event at Road Atlanta, as opening laps go this on board doesn’t look particularly frantic. But what becomes painfully obvious is no matter how much faster the 911 is through the bends, the Corvette in front needs only plant itself in the middle of the road and unleash some V8 might down the straights to stay ahead.
Still, it all sounds rather excellent, don’t you think?
