Video: Onboard a Group C Ferrari-powered Spice at Daytona

Built for Group C, some Spice Engineering cars were powered by 6.0-litre Chevrolet V8s, others by naturally-aspirated 3.0-litre Buick V6s or 5.5-litre Pontiac V8s. This, however, is a 1990 Denon Spice, or Denon Spice SE90P to be precise, and it’s powered by a screaming, naturally-aspirated, 3.0-litre Ferrari V8.

This onboard video was shot at the 2014 Historic Sportscar Racing Daytona Classic 24 Hours with driver Tom Reese. While it may not be the fastest car on track, it certainly is one of the most eye-catching, with a glorious red and yellow livery adorning the Spice-constructed bodywork.

As you’ll hear, that Ferrari V8 is quite an engine. In fact we could listen to it buzzing up and down through the rev range all day. We might just leave it on repeat.
