Did you know that Oliver Bryant is quite good at racing historic cars? Sure he's raced in British GT and even at Le Mans, but we reckon most of his best work has come in machinary that's older than he is.
Bryant is a regular at the front of the field back home at Goodwood – whether that be in the Camaro he shares with his father at Members' Meeting in the Gerry Marshall Trophy, in a Lola T70 battling the likes of Nick Padmore for Bruce McLaren or Whitsun Trophy glory, or in his little Lotus Eleven battling for the Madgwick Cup.
Over in the States Oliver and Grahame like to join our friends at Historic Sportscar Racing for some regular action in their more V8 muscle-based machinary. We've already shared a now-legendary clip of Oliver slicing their Camaro SS through the field like a hot knife through seme particularly soft butter a couple of years back, but here's some more evidence of just how fast he can be.
We're back at Daytona for last year's Classic 24 (and we type this as we arrive for the 2018 event) in this video, this time in the Byrants' stunning black Mustang, Bryant Jr is starting fourth, having been outqualified by two Porsche 911s and a Camaro. He's up to third by the first corner, second through the horseshoe for the first time, and then sets about chasing down the leading Camaro of Ben Beighton. It takes a little setting up, but safe to say he gets past in style.
We'll have loads more content from the Classic 24 over the next few days, for more information about this incredible event, or Historic Sportscar Racing you can click here.
