How do you get the most out of a Ferrari 512 BB LM at Monza? And by that we mean how to you wring out a naturally aspirated 180-degree Ferrari V12 at one of Italy’s most famous racetracks? Sam Hancock seems to make it seem relatively easy.

Last year we brought you some quite frankly glorious onboard footage from a Ferrari 512 BB LM at Monza. The driver was professional racer and historics extraordinaire Sam Hancock, and the video was of his pole lap at the 2019 Monza Historic. It was a mega lap on a part dry, part wet track, but as Sam explains the BB LM’s engine is a heavy lump, and so you have to be gentle through the corners and maximise the straights. Sounds like good fun, doesn’t it? Especially with that scintillating V12 just a few inches behind your head…
