Video: Anything can race on this Aussie street circuit
What a grid! Today let us transport you to the sidelines of one of Australia’s most eclectic series. Featuring everything from Porsches, Mitsubishis, BMWs and Toyotas dating from the eighties to the modern day (there’s even an early Toyota Yaris), the series welcomes “race vehicles derived from registered production automobiles, with limited modifications to improve performance and reliability”.
Among the permitted modifications are engine, brake and suspension adjustments, engine swaps (from the same model) and aero body tweaks. The result is a field full of furious machines, with drivers from a wide variety of backgrounds and varying ages. It’s perhaps one of Australia’s most accessible race series, and the grid is all the better for it.
