Video: Onboard Häkkinen's F1 title winner laps Laguna Seca

On one of the days that included putting IndyCar race winner, possible future F1 racer, McLaren test driver and all-round brilliant talent Pato O’Ward into something rather special – Mika Häkkinen’s 1998 F1 title-winning McLaren MP4-13.

Our friends at Racer were there on site at the event, and were able to grab some extraordinary onboards, including one with the young Mexican. Experience here, not only his first laps in a legendary F1 machine but also a lap faster than anything he’s ever done in an IndyCar.

Just watch and listen to this awesome lap, a showcase of just how talented O’Ward is, considering he’s able to jump straight into an F1 car from the late 1990s and immediately thrash it round Laguna Seca.
