Lola is one of the most important names in the history of motorsport. Whereas now the company has faded from existance – it's remains even being sold off at an auction – once it made some of the most important cars in the world.
While those cars would eventually include cars like Ford's GT40 – which began life with the design of the Lola Mk6 – the T70 and others right through to LMP1 machines of the 2010s, it all had to start somewhere, and that place was the Lola Mk1.
