You know that thing we said about coming in one morning and everything inexplicably being ready? That was this morning, as the cars gradually turn up on site and take up their spots in the paddocks.
A Maserati sportscar here, a GT40 there – the slow trickle of cars quickly turned into a torrent. Porsche 935s, Ferrari 512BBLMs, Bolster Cup specials and more soon followed In 48 hours we’ll be comfortably into practice, looking forward to the Gerry Marshall Trophy. Suppose we ought to enjoy the peace and quiet while it lasts, while we can wander round a paddock of dormant beasts.
