The Hailwood Trophy (ft. Sheene Trophy) is Members’ Meeting presented by Audrain Motorsport’s must-see two-wheel spectacle celebrating the lives of motorcycling legends Mike Hailwood and Barry Sheene.

Amongst the roaring of cars on track over the weekend, this is a unique showcase as both the only bike race and the only multi-class fixture in the schedule, incorporating both four-stroke Formula 750 bikes from 1970s, and 250cc and 350cc two-stroke Grand Prix machinery from the 1980s.

Hailwood Trophy (Ft. Sheene Trophy) Part 2 highlights

After a once-again intense and fast‑paced practice session, Storm Stacey dominated Part 2 of the Hailwood Trophy on the Yamaha TZ 350 H, with Jeffery Vermeulen lining up alongside him on the Nourish Weslake on the front row, while Dan Jackson was hoping to repeat last year’s victory aboard his Harris‑Yamaha TZ350.

As Part 1 proved, this multi‑class race always packs a punch, and once again from the first lap to the last, podium positions were constantly changing. This was a race we simply could not take our eyes off.

Hailwood Trophy (ft. Sheene Trophy) Part 1 Highlights

With two titles up for grabs in a single race, this was always going to be a hard-fought affair, as battles for the Hailwood Trophy and the Sheene Trophy converged. Thirty-three riders were ready for action on Saturday, and the show, as always, did not disappoint.

Showing us how it’s done, one of the youngest riders on the grid, Storm Stacey, raced away from pole position atop his ‘weapon’ of a Yamaha TZ350 H. Surrounded by field of far more experienced riders, he rose to the challenge in what proved to be a remarkable race. Packed with high-speed corners and exhilarating overtakes, we loved every second. From start to finish, this seven-lap race featured a battle for the podium places, every lap being nail bitingly close until the chequered flag.

Hailwood Trophy (ft. Sheene Trophy) Official Practice

Saturday morning presented perfect conditions for motorcycle racing as the riders for the Hailwood Trophy began their Official Practice session. The high-speed layout of the Goodwood Motor Circuit makes for some quick corners and exhilarating overtaking opportunities for motorcycles especially, and we saw the power of these 1970s and ‘80s bikes fully on display already.

It was Storm Stacey that took pole position for the first of two races that comprise this contest, with 0.2 seconds separating the top four. Stacey was impressed with his Yamaha TZ 350 H, describing it as a “weapon” when he came into the pits. James Hillier qualified in second aboard his Yamaha TZ350G, and last year’s winner Dan Jackson completed the top three on the Harris-Yamaha TZ350.

It was a different fortune however for Mark Linton, who was forced to stop his Exactweld TZ250 at the side of the track and will start from the back for this afternoon’s race.

Who’s competing in the 2026 Hailwood Trophy (ft. Sheene Trophy)?

Last year’s winner Michael Russell returns to the Hailwood Trophy grid in 2026 with a change of machinery, having dominated the 82nd Members’ Meeting aboard his RPS Triumph Trident T150. This year he’s made the switch to a 1981 Norton Atlas in his bid to defend his success. Joining him once again is Graham Higlett, who reprises his role on the same 1971 Triumph T150 that carried him to the podium last year, while Dan Jackson also returns on familiar footing, riding his proven 1981 Harris-Yamaha TZ350, the machine that delivered overall victory in 2025.

Which bikes will be in the 2026 Hailwood Trophy (ft. Sheene Trophy)?

This grid is a visceral collision of eras, pitting the thunderous four-stroke ‘heavyweights’ against the screaming two-stroke Grand Prix ‘lightweights’. Representing the iconic British triples of Mike Hailwood’s 1970s career, the Rob North-framed BSA Rocket 3s and Triumph Tridents — notably the RPS machines often piloted by Michael Rutter and Andy Hornby.

They will be locked in a high-speed chase with a swarm of Yamaha TZ350s, particularly the 1980 and 1981 'G' and 'H' models that mirror the machinery Barry Sheene campaigned during his determined post-Suzuki years. Two prizes, relentless racing and a thrilling mix of classes make this a spectacle you won’t want to miss.
