The Whitsun Trophy presented by Sky Cinema is always the Revival race equivalent of a swashbuckling action film. The way these monster V8 sports prototypes howl and squirm their way off the line and round our circuit really puts into perspective the skill and car control of the drivers.
The smoking and sliding start was seriously chaotic, though once everyone got underway it was Rob Hall, Stuart Hall and Oli Bryant who were setting the pace up at the sharp end. It was an unfortunate race for Mark Shaw, who started fifth in his McLaren M1A but suffered a tyre failure. Challenges to the top three were few and far between, with Bryant pushing onto a convincing win.
