While the Glover Trophy has at times been dominated by a single car and driver, its long list of results shows that various British cars have come out on top — with one exception.

The first Glover Trophy of the Revival era was won by the Lola-Climax Mk4 of Danny Sullivan, followed by Geoff Farmer’s Lotus-Ford 49B. Richard Attwood then took victory in three of the next four races aboard a BRM P261, Bobby Rahal’s 2002 win interrupting Attwood’s streak with a Cooper-Climax T79.
A Cooper was triumphant again in 2005, that time a T66 driven by Sid Hoole, following on from Lotus’ second Revival-era win courtesy of Frank Sytner the year before. The BRM P261 came out on top again in 2007, this time with Barrie Williams at the wheel, and that win came in between the only Brabham successes to date — Duncan Dayton’s BT11 in 2006 and the BT7 of James King in 2008.

The modern era of the Glover Trophy began in 2009 and was won by Martin Stretton in a Lotus 24. This set the tone for a period of Lotus domination of the race. Andy Middlehurst left his mark with five wins in a row between 2011 and 2015, all at the wheel of the Lotus 25. Indeed, Lotus cars have taken the chequered flag on eight of the last ten runnings of the Glover Trophy.
Only BRM (2023), and the lone Ferrari 1512 of Joe Colasacco (2018) have interrupted the marque’s success. A special mention, too, for Le Mans winner Richard Attwood’s 2010 Glover Trophy win in a BRM P261.
