Video: Rotary Peugeot 205 T16 is madness on the Hill
When you think across all the cars that have been to the Goodwood Festival of Speed presented by Mastercard, it’s incredibly difficult to narrow down the craziest. This Peugeot has to be in with a shout, though. It’s a 205 – so far so normal – T16-style with a screaming three-rotor in the back. Ah, yes…
In this run at the Festival of Speed a few years ago, the off-road-prepped rotary rally weapon went on a mad one up our Hill. Screaming off the line, lunging with every gear change, the Peugeot astonished as it did its best trophy truck impression, dipping and diving, doing huge slides and kicking up dirt.
We’re actually fairly certain that near-backwards entry just before the halfway mark led the driver to lose it and spin, but he styles it out so well you’d think it’s all part of the pantomime. Yup, crazy as crazy goes, but not without looking incredibly fun.
