There are many new EVs being shown for the first time at the 2025 Goodwood Festival of Speed presented by Mastercard, and many of them are large. The electrified SUV category alone is growing exponentially.
However, those who are fond of combining ecological sensibilities with electric motoring will be heartened by the growing number of small cars that are now becoming part of the EV future. Cars like the Dacia Spring and Hyundai Inster show that EVs needn’t be portly.
Honda vacated the market in 2023 when the e wad discontinued. The new Super EV Concept is a preview of its return, albeit still being shown as a camouflaged prototype. Having undergone some feasibility testing in the UK, it has made its global dynamic debut here on the Hill.
There’s plenty going for it just from appearances. The boxy styling is brimming with appeal for one thing, derived from the Japanese market N-One. Honda also promises a fun driving experience, something it has plenty of form on with hot hatches and sportscars. The wheel-at-each-corner stance heightens our expectations in that regard.
While it is not yet confirmed for production, we can’t help thinking the concept looks pretty well resolved. Watch this space...
