Video: Getting a Porsche 911 GT3 Cup airborne

Can you believe it has been over a week since the 2021 Festival of Speed presented by Mastercard came to an end. Well, let us help ease you through the process of getting over such an incredible weekend, by bringing you some of the action in the raw.

This excellent video, captured from trackside by Scoot Supercars, showcases some of the very fastest runs, but without any commentary, any restricting broadcast camerawork or other things that sometimes make footage feel a little further from the action.

And it begins with perhaps the highlight of the entire video, or possibly the weekend, a screaming, raw moment from Harry King as he set off for his extremely impressive run in the Timed Shootout. King, a Carrera Cup GB champion whose previous finest moment, we think, was tripoding a Porsche 911 GT3 Cup car around the Motor Circuit at SpeedWeek, was yet again holding absolutely nothing back in his desire to throw an even-newer GT3 Cup car up the Hill. This time he went two better than his previous tripod, at one point leaving the 911 with just a single wheel in contact with the tarmac of the Goodwood Hill.

That might be one of the greatest things you’ll ever see, but it doesn’t mean you should click away from the video. For following it are highlights including Nick Swift getting it oh so wrong, but oh so right, in his Mini 1275GT and Emanuele Pirro giving the one-off Ferrari 250 GT SWB “Breadvan” no mercy at all.

It’s an absolutely riveting video, showcasing just a taste of what the Festival has to offer trackside. In reality, all it does is make us want the 2022 event to come around sooner.
