The 2025 Festival of Speed presented by Mastercard is being taken over by the largest gathering of Formula 1 cars the event has ever seen. It’s all in the name of Goodwood’s celebration of 75 years of the Formula 1 World Championship, and the Festival of Speed is expected to host a vast contingent of current F1 drivers and cars representing a large majority of the 2025 grid, including everything from World Championship winners to icons of yesteryear.

Reigning Constructors’ Champions McLaren were one of the first teams to announce its plans, celebrating its decades of success in F1 by bringing five Championship-winning cars to the Festival of Speed. The all-mighty MP4/4 that took the 1988 season by storm will be in action on the Hill over the weekend with none other than four-time World Champion Alain Prost at the wheel.

Prost’s 1985 car, the MP4/2B, in which he won six Grands Prix on his way to his first Drivers’ Championship will also be on the Hill, driven jointly by Bruno Senna and Rob Garofall, while Senna will also be driving a special 15th chassis of the M23, the car that delivered McLaren its first Constructors’ Championship and Emerson Fittipaldi his second Drivers’ title.

McLaren’s most recent Constructors’ winner, the MCL38 is also set to be in attendance, on static display alongside the MP4-23, the car in which Lewis Hamilton won his first Drivers’ Championship in 2008.

Williams

Nigel Mansell stars in Williams’ Festival of Speed plans. The 1992 World Champion will be driving his iconic FW14B up the Hill, the same chassis in which he won four Grands Prix that season, including his home race at Silverstone. Over the four-day event Mansell will share driving duties with Williams Team Principal James Vowles, current European Le Mans series Championship leader Jamie Chadwick, and F1 Academy driver Lia Block.

Moreover, Mansell will also be reunited with his 1986 challenger, the FW11, when he takes to the Hill in the car that so nearly carried him to another World Championship.  “I’m looking forward to returning to the Festival of Speed this summer and celebrating 75 years of the Formula 1 World Championship,” Mansell said. “It’s been amazing to drive the Goodwood Hillclimb in a number of my cars over the years, and I can’t wait to do it all again!”

Haas

F1’s youngest team, Haas is celebrating a decade in the sport by bringing four of its cars to the Festival of Speed, alongside its current drivers, Esteban Ocon and Ollie Bearman. Haas’ first car, the VF-16, will be in attendance, as will the VF-23 in which team owner Gene Haas will be driving up the Hill, and the  VF-24, the car that competed in last year’s Championship.

But it doesn’t get more up to date than Haas’ current challenger, the VF-25, which you’ll be able to see up close when it’s on static display at the Festival of Speed, alongside a whole host of team memorabilia from its ten years in the sport.

Red Bull

Red Bull made a splash at the 2024 Festival of Speed where it enjoyed its 20th anniversary, and this year the team returns as part of Goodwood’s F1 75 celebrations. Two Championship-winning cars are confirmed for attendance, the first being 2011’s RB7 that delivered a second title to both Red Bull and Sebastian Vettel.

Vettel won 11 races that year, with team-mate Mark Webber picking up nine podiums and a victory of his own at the season finale in Brazil as Red Bull finished more than 150 points ahead of runners up McLaren.

Its successor, the RB8, won seven Grands Prix in 2012 to confirm three consecutive Championships for both Red Bull and Vettel, and adds to the number of Championship-winning cars in action on the Hill.

Sauber

Having just surpassed 600 Grands Prix, Sauber is planning to celebrate its legacy at the Festival of Speed, one that spans three decades of racing in F1. The team’s first ever car, the C12 that was driven by Karl Wendlinger and JJ Lehto in 1993 will be on static display, and two decades of progress will be represented by the C32 that was raced in 2013 by Nico Hülkenberg and Esteban Gutiérrez.

The C32 will take to the Hill, and will be unmissable when it does, for it will sport the bright green livery of Sauber’s 2025 challenger, the C45. Fresh from scoring his first points in F1 at the Austrian Grand Prix, Gabriel Bortoleto is making his Goodwood debut and marking the occasion by getting behind the wheel of the C32 for a run up the Hill.

"Driving the Hill at the Goodwood Festival of Speed is something I’ve always wanted to do,” said Bortoleto, “a unique opportunity to see the most iconic racing and road cars up close and in action.”

Alpine

Alpine joins the F1 75 celebrations by bringing its 2023 challenger to the Festival of Speed, the A523, which earned the team fifth place in that year’s Constructors’ Championship thanks to the efforts of Esteban Ocon and Pierre Gasly. Each driver scored a podium that season, with Ocon taking third at the Monaco Grand Prix and Gasly matching that feat at a rain-affected Dutch Grand Prix.

It will be driven at the Festival of Speed by Alpine reserve drivers Paul Aron and Kush Maini, sporting the 2025 livery. F2 driver Maini will be behind the wheel on Thursday before Aron takes over for runs on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. After making his Goodwood debut in 2024, Maini said: “I’m looking forward to taking on the Hill Climb in the A523 after sampling the E20 last year. Goodwood is definitely an event for the fans and I’m excited to be able to see so many people. I cannot wait.”

Ferrari

What would the F1 75 celebrations be without the sport’s oldest and most successful constructor? Ferrari is bringing two of its more recent cars to the party, starting with the SF90, in which Charles Leclerc made his debut for the team in 2019 and won his maiden Grand Prix in Belgium, before immediately following that up with a home win for Ferrari at Monza. His team-mate Sebastian Vettel made it three wins in a row for the SF90 with victory in Singapore, as the team went on to finish second in the Constructors’ Championship that year.

It will be joined at Goodwood by Ferrari’s 2021 car, the SF21, which was driven by Leclerc and new team-mate Carlos Sainz Jr. to third in that season’s standings. After a tricky 2020, the SF21 achieved five podium finishes — four for Sainz and one for Leclerc, who also demonstrated the car’s speed with two pole positions, in Azerbaijan and his home race at Monaco. And at the Festival of Speed, we'll be able to see it for ourselves when the SF21 tackles the Hill.

The 2025 Festival of Speed takes place on 10th-13th July. While admission tickets have now sold out, you can still join us with our range of hospitality experiences that are still available.
