It was a huge moment at the 2025 Festival of Speed presented by Mastercard as Aston Martin introduced the long-awaited Valhalla to the British public for the first time. It made its UK dynamic debut on the Goodwood Hill, unleashing all its 1,079PS (1,456kW) as it climbed up past the House.
The Aston Martin Valhalla is the marque’s first plug-in hybrid mid-engined supercar. It’s powered by a 4.0-litre twin-turbocharged V8 married to three electric motors, two on the front axle and one at the back integrated into the eight-speed dual-clutch transmission.
It’s a setup that allows for all-wheel drive, which manages torque delivery to a minute level via an electronic limited-slip differential to maintain optimal traction at all times. Those motors at the front are also responsible for torque fill, torque vectoring, EV-only driving and reversing.
By the sounds of it, the Valhalla must be quite the car to drive, and the performance figures corroborate that impression somewhat. The V8 engine alone develops 828PS (609kW), with the electric motors topping that up to the full 1,079PS (1,456kW). Top speed is a limited 217mph, 0-62mph meanwhile takes just 2.5 seconds.
Active aerodynamics, complete with a DRS system, produce more than 600kg of downforce from 150mph, pushing the carbon fibre body into the ground. In all, the Valhalla weighs 1,655kg dry.
Production is set to get underway in 2025, with 999 units primed to be built. It’s good to finally see this car in motion at Goodwood, it’s been a long time coming, but ultimately, we’d say it’s probably worth the way.
